The Cedar and Stone Refinery Team

Our Story

The Cedar and Stone Home Collective was founded by three women from different backgrounds and experiences, yet deeply connected by a shared passion for hospitality, creativity, home curation, and service. While cedar and stone are often used in refined homes, for us, cedar represents finding strength in our roots and the wide-reaching branches that allow us to connect, collaborate, and support our clients and other businesses. Stone symbolizes the resilience we have developed through life's challenges and the stability our partnership provides for our families.

Together, Megan, Amber, and Lindsay bring their talents to educate homeowners through staging, styling, photography, branding, and short-term rental consulting. Clients of the Collective experience partnership, collaboration and the guidance needed to maximize their investments, beautify their space, and improve their quality of life.

Meet the C+S Refinery Team

Amber Pogue

Director, Operations + Client Experience

  • Amber has spent over twenty years teaching Chemistry, Biology, and Environmental Science, always viewing her students as clients and priding herself on building lasting relationships with students, families, and the community. A natural connector and supporter, Amber is the first point of contact at Cedar and Stone.

Always up for a creative challenge, she’s quick to dive headfirst into problem-solving—hopefully even yours! Originally from Upstate New York, Amber has lived in snowy Wisconsin, vibrant Philadelphia, and along the shores of North Carolina before finally calling Blacksburg home.

Passionate about all things outdoors, you’ll often find Amber hiking, running, playing softball, baking, or crafting with her three kids, her lovable (and ridiculous) dog, and her wonderful husband—unless she’s off staging and styling with Megan and Lindsay, of course!

Lindsay Grove

Creative Director, Styling + Photography

  • Lindsay’s creative approach is holistic - blending kinesthetic intuition with insatiable curiosity, and translating client needs into creative direction. With experience in design, international program and event planning, sales and visual merchandising for RH - and a decade co-managing her long-term rental properties - she has a refined eye for detail. With a strong foundation in spatial composition, photography, and interior and floral styling, Lindsay leads visual storytelling with an editorial eye, weaving thoughtful design into compelling, layered, intentional imagery.

Forging meaningful partnerships that reciprocally serve is equally at the heart of her process. Whether working with the C + S team, clients, or cultivating partnerships, her goal is to ensure every interaction is shaped by shared values and  commitment to excellence, collaboratively producing work that resonates.

After nearly two decades in Blacksburg, Lindsay, her husband and three boys are currently breathing new life into their 1970’s home, transforming it into a mountain retreat on the outskirts of town. When not taking advantage of the great outdoors, you can find Lindsay free-styling culinary creations to feed her growing brood, arranging florals for deckside gatherings, dreaming up bucket-list adventures, or moving furniture around - again!

Megan Quesenberry

Director, Branding, Digital + Guest Experience

  • Megan brings over 20 years of experience in graphic design, branding, digital media, and marketing, with a background spanning both university and private sector settings. A creative entrepreneur at heart, she pursued her long-time dream of owning a bed and breakfast by embracing the Airbnb platform more than nine years ago. Today, she manages two properties and has been recognized as a highly rated Airbnb Superhost for many years, consistently delivering exceptional guest experiences.

While renovating her lake house in 2020, Megan discovered a deeper passion for interior design, hospitality, and branding spaces—solidifying her commitment to this creative path. Since then, she’s been a guest on the Behind the Stays podcast, worked with the online interior design company Havenly, and played a key role in helping others launch and grow successful short-term rental ventures.

Originally from California’s Bay Area, Megan has called Blacksburg, VA home since 2011. When she’s not designing or managing C+S client spaces, you’ll likely find her enjoying Claytor Lake, doing Pilates, traveling, trying new restaurants, cheering on Virginia Tech, or spending time with her husband, two kids, and their three beloved pets.

Let's connect about your space!
